How To Remove A Broken Headphone Jack

Okay, today I'm just going to show you the quickest way I've ever found to remove a headphone jack from an iPad. So if you look right here, you can see I have a headphone jack in there. I found one of the easiest things to do is to get an old BIC pen and tear it apart so look similar to the ink part right here. Then you can get some of this sticky tack for like hanging posters and whatnot.
Also if you don't have this you can try chewing gum,  I've done that as well but basically you take that tack and you stick it into the hole of this pen. This is that the ink portion from the pen so you have to tear the pen apart. Sometimes you can use coffee straws too. They  work pretty good.

Then you're just going to tear the excess off of this straw so all the sticky tack is in the hole and the outside is clean. Next thing you'll do is you'll take the pen and you'll stick it in to the hole where the jack is and you pull out quickly.  There you have it, it is now clear so I pulled that out pretty quick that time. They're not always that quick sometimes you have to do a little extra work. So if you have either a tiny pair of needle nose pliers or some tweezers or even a small little flathead screwdriver, those headphone jacks have a casing around the outside here.

What you want to try to do is stick that in there but you need to be careful not to damage it. There's a little plastic casing around here so you don't wanna scrape
that too much. What you want do it to get in there and you want to try to scrape against this headphone jack get that casing off. Every headphone jack I've ever taken apart, it kind of has a casing that goes up and then there's a smaller part. That smaller part is what fits right into that pen and that's what you trying to get out. So if you can get in there you can clear that that the cable casing off around that portion, usually you can then stick that pen in there and it pops right out.

So if it doesn't work that quick for you to begin with that's what I'd start with first. Just take something and just clean around in there try to get that casing out the best you can. Once you get that cleared out a little bit, put that pen in there, sometimes it takes up to 20 times of sticking it in there. Sometimes you just want to push it in there as hard as you can and then pull as quick as you can. Don't pull  slow, just a quick jerk.

So I hope it helps.
